Arrivals & Departures

Our next exhibition is Frederick Haddox — Animal Portraits. Viewings by appointment from May 9. Working with colour and line to create a sense of energy and movement, his distinctive brushwork gives form to animals and figures that feel at once immediate and atmospheric.

Frederick's work has been recognized internationally, including the International Prize Leonardo da Vinci (2025) and Artist of the Year (2025) by Effetto Arte.

The gallery's debut exhibition featured portrait photographer Victoria Perger. The Twelve Rogues of Christmas sale of drawings by the proprietor raised funds for Új Kezdet Háza, a Budapest women’s shelter. That was followed by the Black Valentine Exhibition by Romanian born, Budapest resident artist, Ela Daple. Her "relics of the future" made a strong showing at the gallery.

About Rogues Gallery

A new presence in Budapest’s 8th district, Rogues Gallery has a character all its own. When long-time resident Scott Alexander Young first encountered the space, it resembled little more than a bomb site with a ceiling. Today, it feels like a portal to another world: part portrait gallery, part salon, part working studio. Rogues Gallery is home to the László Egyed Reading Library: a curated collection focussed on Picasso and modern art, supported by a strong backbone of Old Master volumes.

All that and Rogues Gallery functions as a creative studio, where film, television, narrative, audio, and new media projects are developed alongside exhibitions. A first example: Portraits at Rogues Gallery. This is the pilot episode of what is intended to become a recurring series.
